What is the 4th Degree?

It's The Patriotic Degree of the Order

Religiously Devoted, Patriotically Proud

For most men who follow Jesus, there comes a time when duty extends beyond our own lives, beyond how we lead our families, and into how we serve our fellow man. That's what the Knights of Columbus is all about. The Patriotic Degree allows knights to take this one step further.  "Sir Knight" is more than a title.  It's an honor.

The primary purpose of your Fourth Degree membership is to foster the spirit of patriotism in members and the community at large and encourage active Catholic citizenship.

As a Fourth Degree Knight you have the opportunity to become part of your assembly's color corps. As a color corps member, you will be recognized widely by the distinctive attire of tuxedo, feathered hat (chapeau), cape and sword. Color corps members regularly take part in civic events such as parades and wreath-laying ceremonies, and in ecclesial functions at Catholic Churches.

Escorting the Icon of
Our Lady of Czestochowa
1

The campaign is based on the pilgrimage of an icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa which has already traveled over 40 thousand miles, traversed 24 countries, visited 75 cathedrals and 60 Orthodox churches in over 400 cities; today it was in Wellington Fl at the Planned Parent facility. Assembly 2709 helped carry in the icon and posted an Honor Guard for it.

The Above Pictures show our Knights in Action participating in the various events we sponsor throughout the year.

Our Assembly's participating Councils are very involved with their Churches and their Community.  We get involved as evidenced with some of the events shown above.  There are 4 principle tenants that we hold dear and follow for the benefit of our Community, Church, Friends, and Family.  They are: "Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism".

Join the Patriotic Degree if you’ve been a Knight for more than six months, and you are a Third Degree Knight in good standing, it’s time to consider taking your journey one step further.

For more information contact your Local Council or Local Assembly, or the
Vice Supreme Master in your area, or the Supreme Council today.
